24 Hours Affidavit & Driving Log (Only for Abbrebiated)
24 Hours Affidavit & Driving Log (Only for Abbrebiated)
In Ohio, if you are 18 or older and need to complete the Adult Abbreviated Course, you are also required to show proof of 24 hours of in-car driving practice with a licensed driver. This practice is separate from the lessons you take with the driving school and is meant to give you safe, real-world experience behind the wheel.
Important: By law, you cannot count more than 4 hours of driving practice in a single day toward your 24-hour requirement. This rule ensures safe practice without fatigue.
What You Need to Do:
- Download the 24-Hour Affidavit & Driving Log (click the link below).
- Record your practice driving sessions on the log.
- Once you complete the 24 hours, have the licensed driver who supervised your practice sign and notarize the affidavit.
This completed and notarized form must be submitted to the BMV as proof that you met the practice driving requirement.
Ohio’s new phone app, RoadReady Ohio, provides tools to log the required hours of practice new drivers need, while also providing real-time telematic feedback and tips.
